Probably needs a new ribbon. Very clean cosmetically, with just a few minor wear scratches see images. Although an electric motor turns a shaft within the typewriter, selectric uses entirely mechanical controls along with binary-based input-to-mechanical converter that transforms key triggers into right type elements.

Pristine keys. Producing more than 15 characters every second, the selectric was one of first typewriters to operate faster many users' typing speeds. When the Ibm selectric first came out in 1961, it stood as one of most important mechanical inventions 20th century.
