It works fine, however, with the electrical tape on. It is a used typewriter, and the cord was repaired not by me at one point. I tested it and is working, as shown in picture. I can't say for sure how the cord was repaired or why as am not he original owner.
If I were going to keep it, i'd probably put a couple permanent connectors there be safe. This memory typewriter has the original box.
