There is a black ribbon cartridge inside the machine but not white out. This probably works fine with a different daisy wheel, which I do not have at the moment. Brother SX-4000 the lower case b on daisy wheel gets stuck and produces a blob instead of proper character. It looks like tried to overlap the next character over o daisy wheel.
