If you get a totally black ribbon and the starts getting light, can use red setting to another part of extend life. Typewriter and case are heavy around 17 lbs. This is a vintage possibly 1960s copper and beige-colored manual, portable typewriter from Sears. I am also selling a few typewriters that type the smaller print which is called elite 12 spaces characters per inch.

Lastly, the little nub on closure of case is missing so you'll need to slide it with your fingernail or a pen tip and then opens no trouble see picture can do single double spacing has setting for light, medium, heavy touch particularly useful when you would be using carbon paper making few copies.
